Making pizza with your share can be as easy or as complicated as you want to make it. You can make pizza crust (we use Mark Bittman’s recipe, which is easy but takes time to let the dough rise) or you can buy a pre-made crust at the store. Same story with pizza sauce. Then, throw on anything you feel like!
Pizza is our favorite way to eat kale: just steam it for a couple minutes and throw it on top of all your other toppings. It crisps up and adds a great crunch to your pies. This week, we also used scallions and yellow squash from our share, but we’ve used potatoes, garlic scapes, and peppers in the past. Pretty much anything goes. Add a little mozzarella, put it in the oven at 450 degrees for 7 to 10 minutes or until the crust is crispy and the toppings are browned. This is a great “meeting halfway” meal for those in your household who might be more skeptical about the whole “vegetables” thing.
