Will Allen is a Milwaukee farmer who designed a program to offer teens an opportunity to work at his store and restore old greenhouses to grow food for their community. The program has been a huge success, and Growing Power now serves as an “idea factory” for people with many different relationships to farming. He’s giving a talk on Thursday in Brooklyn, and if you’re interested in food policy and community organizing, check it out!
