1.  First Pickup – June 14th!

It’s one week until our first pickup — Thursday, June 14th at the P.S. 9 cafeteria (80 Underhill Avenue at St. Marks Place) from 4:30pm to 7:30pm. In addition to the weekly vegetables, fruit, eggs, and dairy, there will be:
• coffee
• Lewis Waite mystery boxes
• Lewis Waite extras & bread shares

Remember to bring your own bags for the pickup and — if you have an outstanding balance — the remainder of your payment.

2.  Keeping in touch between pickups

A lot can happen in a week!  Make sure you check out our blog for recipes, food advocacy coverage, and much more.  Before our season opener, check out an oldie-but-goodie about making the most of your CSA share:  How to Care for Your Share

Make sure to like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter for the latest news!

Want to pitch in and help us blog?  Email blog@prospectheightscsa.org!

3.  Lewis Waite Farm mailing list

In addition to our weekly newsletters, you will be receiving separate notices starting this week from Lewis Waite Farm. We have partnered with them to offer all kinds of locally raised meats (beef, pork, chicken, chevon, rabbit, buffalo and duck included), freshly ground organic NYS flour, organic NYS dried beans and grains, jams, and chutneys, fresh baked bread, honey and maple syrup, locally produced granola and energy bars, and a wide variety of local cheese from goat, sheep and raw cow milk cheese makers.

You have the option to unsubscribe from Lewis Waite mailings if you wish, but remember that you are responsible for all information that we, PHCSA, send to you.  Changing subscription preferences of your Lewis Waite emails will not affect the emails you receive from PHCSA. Don’t even think of unsubscribing from us!

4. Dairy & Lewis Waite tastings at first two pickups

At the first two pickups, we will offer tastings from Milk Not Jails and Lewis Waite Farm for you to try! This will be your last chance to sign up for dairy shares (weekly), bread shares (biweekly), and mystery boxes (monthly). For the rest of the season, you can order items a la carte atwww.csalewiswaitefarm.com (instructions for ordering are here and will also be in their first email coming soon).

5. Splitting Dairy Shares

Did you hold off on ordering a dairy share from Milk Not Jails because you aren’t sure you’ll be able to use it all?  Or have you ordered a dairy share, but you’d prefer to split it?  We can help!  Email extras@prospectheightscsa.org  and we’ll try to coordinate!

Coming Soon…

  • Instructions for workshift signup (online system this year)
  • Website feature about the Core Group and how to get involved
  • Google calendar you can subscribe to for the season’s events
